30-07-2012Ireland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Germany: 4 nations, 19 medals!
With at least one medal in each discipline, Netherlands clearly dominated these European Pony Championships 2012 thanks to talented riders such as Sanne Vos (gold and silver medal in dressage) and Lisa Nooren (silver in show jumping). But with two individual medallist in show jumping and the victory of its team, Great Britain showed her supremacy, with 14 titles in 18 years under Katherine Moore's coaching.
Show Jumping : Individual Championships: Millie Allen sing the right song
Before this final, Millie was the only one to have a completely clear score. The winner of CSIOP of Fontainebleau Grand Prix in April already knew the ground and it seemed to be a formality for her pony Song Girl to jump over the big fences of this last rounds. With fences 1,35m tall in the first round, and 1,40m in the second one, the course designer had chosen to adapt his plans to the « high quality ponies and riders participating to this championships » said Jean-Claude Quque, the course designer. Millie Allen (GBR) did another clear round in the first one, but many riders occured penalties that changed the physionomy of the ranking.
Eventing : Strong Irish team finally gets the gold!
After having been European vice-champion in 2011, Irish eventing team achieves its goal. « We have worked a lot this winter, mostly dressage and show jumping » explains Susan Shortt, the chef d'équipe. These efforts allowed to take advantage since the begining with a good dressage and to resist until the end facing British squad that was good enough to trouble.
Dressage : Another gold medal for Semmieke Rothenberger (GER)
Judges had to chose today again between Sanne Vos (NED) and Semmieke Rothenberger (GER). After a thrilling win “by a nose” in the Classic Championship on Saturday, Sanne Vos had some pressure on her shoulders on this last day of competition. And the judges too, as Raphaël Saleh (FRA), member of the jury said. “It has been hard to find some differences between these two champions, but we had to award the gold and silver medals”.
Show Jumping : true consolation for Sweden
The Swedish Philip Carey riding Stakkati wins the comforting jumping competition signing the fastest course in the second round ahead 5 doubles clear course. A true consolation for Philip that were eliminated on the Nations Cup yesterday. The Irish Tom Foley (24 pts on Nations Cupe) takes the second place on Crown Jewel and third Marie Scharapan for Switzerland on Emillio Berkenhoeve (28 pts on Nations Cup).

The French Pony and Small Horses Federation and the studbooks associations welcome you on the breeding village to discover all the different French pony studbooks.
Today on the main grass arena:
- 12h : the best French Saddle Ponies
- 13h15 : just before the show jumping team competition, the winners of Shetland and Connemara breeding shows
- 17h : presentation of the ponies of the amicable sale. You'll surely find your next sport pony!
On the small grass arena, the first international Connemara pony show will start at 10h. A great moment for all who love this awesome pony!
Eventing : Isles on top, Germany just behind
Eventing
Ireland, Great Britain, Germany are the leaders after the first part of eventing's dressage. Ireland hasn't a comfortable advance as Great Britain is close with only 1,3pts to catch up with them. It still open and more when we have walked the cross country designed by Benoît Marchand, also the builder of all obstacles.
But that's the German, Leonie Leuwer with Camissa Nera, participating to the individual championship, signing the best score this day (40,6 pts) with 5 points ahead of Cathal Daniels (Ireland) riding Master Murrose running for the team medal (45,2 pts) .

Germany in the lead
After the first two riders of each dressage team, Germany takes the lead today thanks to her two riders who took...the best two individual places! Nadine Krause / Danilo 80 lies in 1st with 73.872% and Anne-Christina Abbelen / Dornik's Donovan in 2nd with 73.616%. Netherlands is really close with a good 3rd place for Rosalie Bos / Paso Doble (73.385%). Denmark follows at the 3rd team place. Tomorrow afternoon will take place the 2nd and last part of the team competition. This first critical sporty moment should match these 3 teams for the podium, even if Great-Britain could climb on it at the disadvantage of Denmark. Dressage will start on Thursday at 13h30, and live on video broadcast on www.dailymotion.com/europoney.
18-07-2012The Euro Pony is officially open!
Hundreds of people, supporters, families, and so on applaused the 18 nations entered in this 2012 European Pony Championships. Authentic bagpipes played to honor the riders who paraded in front of the public with flags and other colored things. We tip our hat to the Austrian team with its traditional clothes, the Swedish team and its pomp-pom girls, the Dutch team and especially its orange bulldog ! A lot of enthousiam, emotion and pleasure for everyone before the first day of competition. After the vet check for dressage and show jumping, tomorrow will take place the vet check for eventing, the warm up for show jumping, the first CSIP/CSIYP classes (in the afternoon) and the first part of dressage team competition.

To allow everyone, equestrian fans, supporters, families, sponsors, to follow all the championships – THE pony competition of the year 2012 – the organizing committee decided to broadcast live on Internet the main classes everyday from 18 to 22 July, 9h-18h daily, on the Euro Poney Dailymotion channel.

"These riders were selected based on form, which included our two international trials plus the performances at international shows. All we need is a little bit of luck on our side at the championships."

HORSE Sport Ireland has confirmed the Pony Eventing squad for the 2012 European Championships in Fontainebleau, France from the 17th – 22nd July
The two non travelling reserves will be selected after Monart on the 24th June 2012
Team Ireland's Equestrian Pony Eventing High Performance Coach Sue Shortt said the standard of performance from our ponies has improved every year.
"This year we have selected six combinations that are hugely talented and are very capable of finishing in the top 15 individually at the Championships, " she said.
"Three of the riders were selected in our performance based selection system while the other three riders were given wildcards. I am very happy with the way it worked out and the selection system should help to prepare the riders better to deal with the pressures involved in competing at the Championships."

On the 3 june 2012, Netherlands get it with Rosalie Bos (Paso Doble - nrps) scoring 76,875% in Freestyle competition. 2nd, Erin Willains (Dynasty -rhei) 75,7% for the Great-Britain. 3rd, Netherlands again at 75,55% with Lisanne Zoutendjik (Amaretto - nrps).
The best French is Caroline Faujour withTim, 72,1% and the 6th place.
French sport ponies: discover 8 breeds
An arena will be totally dedicated to French sport ponies with several breeding classes and shows. 8 different breeds will be presented with their best specimens: French Saddle Pony, Connemara, New-Forest (which are the 3 most important pony studbook in France), Shetland pony, Welsh pony, Mérens (a dark and strong pony from Pyreneans), Icelandic pony, Haflinger.

The Alpin Cup of Marbach goes to the French squad :
Justine Lacroix (Piksou Perrochel - DSA), Gabin Ramel Jacob (Mon Nantano de Florys -PFS), Carla Lefaure (Kisaute Ho d'Othon -PFS) and Chloé Pichot (Louison du Moulin -Co).
They get 150.10 points of penalities and a good lead of 13, points ahead German team.
Hanna-Lea Kehrer (Cyrano 89), Katja Wolf (Puccini 92), Anna-Katharina Vogel (Mac Ide) and Sarah Schmierer (Moonlight Kiss).
They get 163,3 pts of penalities.

Bertram Allen (IRL), from ponies to horses
Everybody remember this fantastic individual gold medal won by the young Irish rider at the FEI European Pony Championships 2010 (in Bishop Burton, UK). Riding Acapella Z, he clearly dominated his opponents, after contributing to the silver team medal of the Irish show jumping team two days earlier. This weekend (29 April), Bertram Allen won his very first international senior Grand Prix at the CSI2* of Antwerp (BEL)...at only 17! Another proof that international pony circuit is the right way for children to become champions few years later!

CSIP in Moorsele : so British !
This weekend (1st april 2012) in Moorsele (BEL) was organized a CSIP. Two British girls dominated the jump off: Christie Pritchard / Birchill Dessy (1st) - taking part at the CSIOP of Fontainebleau and Jessica Mendoza / Tixylix (2nd) who were bronze medallist last year at the Europeans.

Alizée Froment, coach of the pony dressage french team, check in the progress of the team: "Parents of the young Capucine Molliex bought « Desperado », the Danish vice-champion also brillant on international grounds under Denmark colors. The pony arrived the week of 12 March 2012 in Swiss stables where Capucine gets training. We will see them on the next national competition of Jardy at the same time than elite French seniors."

This week-end, the french dressage pony trainer, Alizée Froment finished 2nd and 3rd of the Grand Prix reserved for under 25 years old riders with Naxos du Coussoul (66,698%) and Mistral du Coussoul (65,48%). She is behind the dutch Dierderick Van Silfhout with Vorst D (67,233%).
In the same time, Clarissa Stickland with Diana finish fourth of the Pony Grand Prix freestyle (Kür) with 68,125% side by side with the swiss Anastasia Huet (Bovey Good Life) - 68,55%

The name Euro Poney is protected to give to the event the best visibility we can. The name, logo and others pics that are or will be diffused can be used for medias (printed press, radios / TV, internet) to promote the event and patners of the event in their communication. Other use are prohibited and products offered or sold by the organizer can't be sell back.

For every nations, the FEI asks to combinations (rider & pony) to get at least 60% in a pony team or individual CDIP competition including the 2011 european pony championship. 28-02-2012Horse ball : coaching of the french team
Notice to under 16 years old riders : the coaching of the french horse ball team is coming !
7 & 8 april : optional course à Lamotte Beuvron. If this course doesn’t give the cerrtainty to be selected, it will help to improve the game and meet other potential members of the team.
26 to 28 may : the Grand Tournoi, also organized at the federal parc will be the place for the coach to detect riders.

Photo shooting ended
For the needs of the creation of the Euro Pony's poster, we had to organize a photo shooting. Discover the Euro Pony's logo!
It's the very first graphic element being revealed: the Euro Pony's logo. Sober, elegant, modern, it recalls clearly the attachment to sport ponies and to Europe. It's composed of 3 colours: black for the silhouette, gold for the stars and the name, and anthracite for the text. This has been created by AC&COM agency (Anne-Charlotte Remy) and will be stamped on all the official documents published by the organizing committee and the communication department, with specific adaptations for some products. If you wish to use this logo, please send an email to fontainebleau2012@pixizone.com and give us the details of how you would like to use it and where. Next graphic step: the official poster!
Official launch of the Euro Pony 2012 website
The Euro Pony 2012 will bring together the FEI European Pony Championships of show jumping, dressage and eventing, and the European Pony Horseball Championships. The French Ponies and Small Horses Breeders Federation will add a big village dedicated to sport ponies breeding with stallions shows, breeding classes, etc. All of these informations are now available on the Euro Pony website www.europoney2012.com. You'll be able to follow news, entries, results, and of course find all the details to plan your venue.
